An antique broker jailed for eight years to accommodate and traded on the first work of Shakespeare that was stolen. Raymond Scott, 53 years old, from County Durham, was acquitted of charges of stealing valuables that but was found guilty of trading in stolen goods, in one trial in June.

Work in 1632 was taken from a display cabinet at the University of Durham in 1998. Judge Richard Lowden said the paper was “a native English speaker valuables” and said the damage to the goods was a “cultural vandalism”.

This case is associated with one of the papers that still survive in the form of a collection of Shakespeare’s play of the 17th Century.

This paper was given by Scott to the Library Folger Shakespeare in Washington DC, a decade later.

In front of Newcastle Court hearing disclosed that Scott kept a collection of papers that have been severely damaged, which is estimated to worth around £ 1 million (about Rp14 billion), in his home for ten years before taking it to the Folger library. Library staff then called the police.

When that sentence, Judge Richard Lowden said, “Within certain limits, you are an experienced fantasis and personality disorder and you are an alcoholic.

“It is clear that the psychiatrists report that you are not experiencing mental disorders.”

Judge Lowden said Scott did not intentionally destroy it or get involved doing vandalism.

He added, “This work will be regarded by many as an invaluable, but for the price you must be very high and you go very far to get that price.

“Your motivation is money.

“You want to finance the play-boy life style that is very expensive to attract a woman you meet in Cuba.

“Your friends in Cuba opted to support your plan.”

In that trial, jurors listened to testimony from U.S. experts are quick to suspect that the book was stolen and called the British Embassy, Durham Police, and FBI.

They found that historical objects are a rare example of the paper, which is regarded as one of the most important works of literature ever printed.
